According to the Singapore newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, a student in Raffles Junior High School was punished because he used palm size video camera taping his teacher abuse a student in the class and posted the video on the Internet. Instead that the teacher was questioned and punished due to her behavior, the student was deciplined and made an apology to the school. His parents had made same apology to the school. What the rule is! Compact video cameras are becoming weapons for people to record social problems and injustice, like Rodny King case. If LA police would had punished the videotaper instead policemen, what would the consequences be? In my opinion, anyone who has a video camera sould have right to tape anything they want to tape and post them on any medieum they can post. Digital technology brings a digital democratic culture to us. Everyone is equal in publishing and accessing information. I don't know what the Singapore school would teach their students about democracy and human rights.
